A gift in memory or honor of a beloved family or friend can be the most appropriate way to express a lasting tribute. To honor someone at an important milestone in his or her life, for instance a birthday or anniversary, is also an ideal way to give a special gift to that person.
If a gift or gifts collectively in one person’s name total $1,000 or more, the individual’s name is permanently placed on a special plaque that is displayed in the hospital. Each memorial or honor gift is acknowledged with a card to that person or to the family of that person in whose name the gift is made. Notification does not include the amount of the gift.
Please discuss these and other estate gift options with your tax advisor or financial planner as the United Memorial Medical Center Foundation does not give estate or tax advice. Feel free to have your advisors contact the Foundation at (585) 344-5300.
