Quality care right at home.

Hope Haven

Hope Haven is a 20 bed in patient Chemical Dependency unit housed in the former St. Jerome Hospital building on the second floor.  Our unit consists of group room space, patient bedrooms, offices for staff, a nurses’ station and “living room” style areas for conversation, con-joint meetings, etc.

The process of referral begins with a call to the Admissions Counselor at (585) 344-7276.  This can be a self-referral, or made by someone such as a counselor, Court Officer, or family member.

Upon referral, a phone screen is conducted to help determine appropriateness for this level of care.  The phone screen provides information related to chemical use history, current medical, mental health and legal issues.  Current insurance is also obtained and verified.  The Medical Director is consulted prior to arranging admission.  The doctor determines whether the person may require stabilization of medical or mental health needs and/or detoxification services (which are not provided at Hope Haven)  prior to being eligible for admission.

The length of stay varies dependent upon several factors, but most people remain for 28 days.  After care referral is made for each person, dependent upon the special needs of that person.

Each person is assigned a Primary Counselor to oversee care.  Nurses staff the unit 24 hours a day and a medical director sees patients on a regular basis.  We use a multi-disciplinary team approach to treatment, incorporating spirituality related to recovery, recreational therapy, and life skills such as anger management and stress management.

We offer a 12 Step model for those persons who are open to this model.  For those people for whom this is not a choice, we offer alternative approaches to sobriety and recovery.   We encourage people to a substance free recovery.

We hope that this information is helpful to you.  If you would like additional information, please contact the Admissions Counselor at (585) 344-7276, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
