“Us Too” Self Help Group

US TOO is a self non-profit organization founded by and for the benefit of men with prostate disease, particularly prostate cancer.  Founded in February 1990 by five prostate cancer survivors who gathered at the University of Chicago Hospital.  US TOO has grown to over 500 chapters – both national and international.  Our mission is to help survivors of prostate cancer and prostate disease and their families lead healthy and productive lives, physically, mentally and spiritually, by offering fellowship, shared counseling and discussion sessions, both formal and informal, pertaining to updated medical options and a positive mental outlook.  Our motto is “Learning to cope through knowledge and hope.”  Our objectives are to provide awareness to men to get screened for early diagnosis; to reach out to newly diagnosed patients to provide support, opportunities for dialogue with others who have traveled this path and education as they make decisions and go through treatment; to provide opportunities to survivors to help others as they go through their fight and to reach out to men in advanced stages of the disease.
