M.O.M.’s - Medicaid Obstetric Maternal Services



M.O.M.'s is a prenatal support program designed to assist pregnant women, without adequate insurance, to make arrangements for essential prenatal care services and access to proper medical care during their pregnancy and following the birth of their baby.  Services are available to any woman who is under-insured or with no financial means of paying for prenatal care and is either currently enrolled in Medicaid or willing to enroll and Medicaid eligible. 

Guidance – through the application process for Medicaid, Medicaid Managed Care and W.I.C., depending on individual eligibility.

Patient Advocate Counseling – provides appropriate referrals to community agencies to meet each client’s needs.

Multifaceted Prenatal Health Education Program – offers essential information about fetal development, prenatal nutrition, exercise, birthing, infant nutrition, breastfeeding, dangers of nicotine, alcohol and drug use, labor and delivery and signs of premature labor and birth control options.

What to bring to your initial M.O.M.’s interview:

  • Drivers license or DMV picture ID or Student ID or Passport
  • Social Security Card
  • Birth Certificate
  • Rent Receipt or proof of residency (something mailed to you at your current address, or a statement from the person you are residing with)
  • Pay stub - last four weeks gross wages (also, if married - bring your husband’s or, if not married, your significant other’s if you reside in the same household), child support received, social security, alimony, unemployment
  • Marriage certificate
  • Insurance cards if applicable
  • Dates of birth of everyone residing in your household
