Advanced Cardiac Life Support Program
The primary goal of the ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) program is to ensure that each participant obtain the cognitive knowledge and psychomotor skills necessary to manage a victim through a cardiac emergency. The ACLS course is designed to review, organize and prioritize the skills and didactic information needed to handle a cardiac arrest, events that may lead to a cardiac arrest, and events that follow a cardiac arrest. The course is not designed as a complete course in arrhythmia recognition to pharmacology. It is designed only to review those subjects.
Pre-requisites:
- Registrants may be medical, nursing, para-medical or allied healthy personnel whose daily occupation demands proficiency in the knowledge and skills of ACLS.
- It is strongly recommended that registrants possess basic knowledge/skills in the following areas: Adult Basic Life Support (current AHA BLS certification), Arrhythmia Recognition, and Pharmacology.
Class Time Requirements: Two, 7.5 hour days
